Flying Start is a framework supporting children, parents and professionals. We bring together information on the different stages or transitions that happen in the first five years of your child’s life. Most of the information we provide is useful for parents across Ireland, however, we are a Louth based project so some of the services we list on this site are only available to parents in Louth.
What are Transitions?
When it comes to parenting, one thing you can be certain of is change. We call the different stages of change in a child’s life transitions.
Transitions are a natural and normal part of growth and development for parents and children. The first five years of your child’s life are full of transitions. From being an expectant parent right through to waving your child off on the first day of primary school. Some of these transitions come with a degree of uncertainty. Flying Start aims to support you through these transitions to make the first five years an enjoyable and smooth journey for you and your family.
