Playdough fun!

Why not make your own playdough. You can do this easily at home  using basic everyday kitchen ingredients:

  • 250g plain flour
  • 100g table salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 200-250ml warm water
  • Food colouring of your choice

Edible Finger/Hand Paints

Finger and hand painting are both fun activities to do with toddlers and preschoolers.

Follow these instructions to make your own edible paints using everyday ingredients:

  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Food coloring
  • Plastic cups
  1. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar into a saucepan.
  2. Add 1/3 cup of flour to the saucepan.
  3. Mix with 2 cups of water and whisk until smooth. Turn on the heat and stir continually until the mixture thickens.
  4. Pour into your plastic cups equally. You’ll one cup for every color of paint you’d like to make.
  5. Mix in a couple drops of food coloring and stir until completely dissolved. Let cool completely before allowing your child to put their fingers in the paint!
  6. When cool enjoy painting
